Icon Adventures is an Australian company founded in 2005 by experienced trekkers and tour guides, James Holden and Chris Ramsey.
With extensive experience as independent travellers, they now share their adventures with like-minded travellers who seek personal challenge and wish to leave a positive impact on the communities they visit.

James Holden
James was an experienced trekker and adventurer prior to founding Icon Adventures. He leads several Icon trips each year and develops our new destinations and community projects. His energy and passion for adventure ensures we always have something new and exciting for our clients. |

Chris Ramsey Chris's motivation for founding Icon Adventures was to share his love of travel with others. He leads several Icon trips each year and develops our new destinations and community projects. His interest in people and the environment makes travelling with Icon a personalised and rewarding experience. |

Greg Shannon Greg is an experienced and personable Kokoda trek leader. He has walked the track many times, and has extensive knowledge of the area and its military history. His other passion is Rugby League, writing part-time for the Queensland Rugby League and the North Queensland Cowboys. |

Israel Sahle Israel is our man-on-the-ground in Ethiopia. His meticulous organisation and negotiation skills are vital to the success of our Ethiopian trips. He loves introducing people to his beautiful country and always ensures our clients are well cared for. |

Elizabeth Menzies Elizabeth is a renowned photographic artist with an abiding love for West Papua. She has led more than a dozen travel groups to the island since 2000. Her experience in the region ensures a fabulous adventure for everyone who travels with her. |

Tim Sambell Tim is bush-bred with a great love of the outdoors and an easy-going manner. He joined out team as a leader after trekking with us in 2009. His extensive knowledge of military history and capable bush-skills make him a wonderful guide for Kokoda. |

Pep Raff Pep is an adventurous country girl who loves travelling the world. She first travelled with us as a client and now leads our cultural tours. Her bright nature and hospitable charm make travelling with her a pleasure. |

Matt Boyd Matt has a background in emergency health care in remote and rural areas. He has led Kokoda treks for several years and enjoys the challenge each time. His attentive and personal manner are much appreciated by trekkers and local staff alike.
